Case Study
When real estate is at a premium, you make the most of what you've got. When erecting storage sheds with DBCI roll-up doors in a tight space in Parker, Ariz., LoPresti Construction, Inc., was able to squeeze, two non-rectangular metal buildings provided by Heritage Buildings.
Each building has living quarters on the second floor.
"They're called 'elite' buildings,' says owner Mark LoPresti. "Because of the lack of real estate in Parker, we had to make do with what was available. One building had one 90-degree corner and the other didn't have any. I was on the phone with a designer from Heritage for about a month before we got everything to where we knew it would work and were happy with them."
The building with three 16-foot by 14-foot roll-up doors is approximately 2,800 square feet. The two-door building is about 2,600 square feet with roll-up doors that measure 18 feet by 14 feet. All five doors are from DBCI's 3250 Series Model insulated roll-up door in Polar White. While the odd-shaped buildings didn't affect the installation of the doors, putting up the walls and installing the roof took some extra time because some were parallelograms instead of rectangular. The buildings were completed in July 2021.
LoPresti, whose company also builds custom homes and handles residential remodeling, has been erecting Heritage metal buildings and installing doors from DBCI for more than 20 years. DBCI doors are installed on about 75 percent of the metal buildings he builds.
"DBCI stands behind their doors," LoPresti says. "Doors that we installed 20 years ago are still in use. It's a great product. Installation is easy, but we have discovered a few secrets over the years. If you can follow directions, you can install a DBCI door. I've even talked someone through an installation over the phone."
